Kronda Adair came to me looking to create a brand video to promote her flagship program, The Content Bootcamp.

I knew of her work from common online groups, but when I listened to her podcast and learned about our shared value of empowering women of color, I knew we’d create magic together.

Kronda’s brand is a Sovereign/Warrior archetype. She helps them to get clear on a bigger vision, then guides her students and clients towards it. 100% Sovereign qualities.

Her warrior archetype is present in how she leverages the power of community through her podcast and her programs, and helps them to build systems to support their long term vision.

Her brand is modern with reliable, systems-minded qualities, and a dash of fun ๐Ÿ™‚ I was totally up for the challenge to tell her story in a video that would FEEL like her brand.

In the video below, I take you behind the scenes on our video shoot, and share an important tip to help you tell a cohesive story about your brand that gets your audience excited to work with you.

Because I used less slow motion for Kronda’s video as a creative decision, I also talk about how to select the right b-roll shots for YOUR brand.

Make sure to stay till the end where Kronda flies my drone! ๐Ÿ˜ณ ๐Ÿ˜‚

As you can see, we had a ton of fun, and I dove immediately into the editing process. I like to start right away while the energy of the shoot are strong. I feel like it “transmits” into the creative process to help me create the BEST possible video for my clients.

But what I loved the most about Kronda and this project, were the stories that came up during the interview.

Stories are so important because they provide CONTEXT. Context makes your story and message more understandable and memorable.

I understood how her mother and grandmother were great influences for her love of books, words, and content.

I felt her commitment to her Content Bootcamp students in not only growing their business, but being an active voice as a woman of color.

I loved her playfulness and willingness to play along with any shot I directed her into! ๐Ÿ˜‚ This was also apparent playing with her dog, Odi, and when she fly my drone.

I made sure to pull in these themes of “empowering women and women of color” and “your content is your voice” into her brand video.

Here’s the final video:

The biggest takeaway here?

Your STORY forms the foundation of the messaging in your business. Not only will it feel more aligned, but you’ll have more fun marketing too!

Digging deep into Kronda’s story revealed depth, meaning, and purpose to her work and vision. Taking all those golden nuggets, I was able to form a core brand message that’s aligned with who she truly is, AND her flagship offer without sounding salesy.
